Each year
in April, we celebrate National Library Week by decorating the
library, holding a coloring contest and passing out treats.
Family
Reading Night is celebrated throughout Illinois on the 3rd
Thursday in November. It’s a day when families are encouraged to take
a break from television and their hectic schedules to spend some time
together, reading and relaxing. The library can help, with reading
lists and good ideas for reading to and with children. We usually
have a display of new items and maybe snacks or attendance prizes to
encourage using the library to find that special book for family
reading time.
